Pokémon Go’s battle league is broken up into three divisions. There’s the Great League, the Ultra League, and the Masters League. The Great League allows you to use any Pokémon you want, so long as it does not exceed the 1,500 CP cap. To make the competition easier to handle, we created a handful of potential teams consisting of some of the best Pokémon for you to pick from and their best moves.

Pokémon Go’s Great League for season 6 will run from November 30 to December 14.

Galarian Stunfisk, Galvantula, and Tropius

For those who want to use a variety of choices, this match-up should prove exciting. The Galarian Stunfisk is an excellent option to use in the current meta of Pokémon Go, and alongside Galvantula and Tropius, it should do fairly decently to keep it up. While the combo is not the best against every choice, it should prove useful for those looking to protect Galarian Stunfisk’s weaknesses.

• Galarian Stunfisk: Mud shot (fast move), rock slide, and earthquake
• Galvantula: Volt switch (fast move), lunge, and discharge
• Tropius: Razor leaf (fast move), leaf blade, and aerial ace

Machamp (shadow), Registeel, and Cresseila

For players who have been keeping with the raids and the regular competitions in Pokémon Go, now is the time to use those powerful legendary Pokémon. With a team-leading with Machamp (shadow), you can optimize Registeel and Cresseila to do some serious work. It’s a niche team due to how many legendary Pokémon you’d need to use, but they’re becoming a more regular sight.

• Machamp (shadow): Counter (fast move), rock slide, and cross chop
• Registeel: Lock on (fast move), flash cannon, and focus blast
• Cresseila: Psycho cut (fast move), grass knot, and moonblast

Azumarill, Altaria, and Meganium

If you continue to live and use Azumarill in your roster, then you want to make sure you can protect it and still fight plenty of other Pokémon. You need to build your team around it because Azumarill has been the bane of many trainers, and they’re becoming ready for it. You want to bring Altaria and Meganium along to do some reliable damage and protect one another.

• Azumarill: Bubble (fast move), ice beam, and hydro pump
• Altaria: Dragon breath (fast move), sky attack, and dragon pulse
• Meganium: Vine whip (fast move), frenzy plant, and earthquake

Sirfetch’d, Dewgong, Alolan Marowak

Some of the new Pokémon that have been released over the past month or two are great additions to the battle league, such as Sirfetch’d. The Great League is the perfect time to try it out before taking it to the Ultra or Masters, and you also want to use Dewgong and Alolan Marowak, especially now that Alolan Marowak has access to its signature move, shadow bone.

• Sirfetch’d: Counter (fast move), leaf blade, and close combat
• Dewgong: Ice shard (fast move), water pulse, icy wind
• Alolan Marowak: Fire spin (fast move), shadow bone, and bone club

Deoxys (Defense), Mantine, and Whimsicott

The final team to consider creating is a specific choice and not every trainer will have access to the main event of the team, Dexoys (defense). It’s a Pokémon that appears every once in a while for five-star raids, and when it does, trainers search for it high and low to try and capture it. It’s an extremely good Pokémon, and if you have one, try pairing it with Mantine and Whimsicott to exceed in the Great League.
